St. Thomas School, Dhamri, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The campus was beautifully decorated with tricolour flags and festoons, radiating the spirit of freedom.

The Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Saurav Kumar Thakur, Sub-Inspector of Meharma, was warmly welcomed at the entrance by the school band in the presence of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Rijesh Sebastian, teachers, and students. The celebration began with the solemn flag hoisting ceremony, led by Mr. Thakur, as the entire gathering saluted the Tricolour and sang the National Anthem with pride.

Following the flag hoisting, a vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students, showcasing their talent and love for the country through patriotic songs, dances, speeches, and skits. Each performance reflected the values of unity, freedom, and sacrifice, reminding everyone of the struggles of our great freedom fighters.

In his address, Principal Fr. Rijesh Sebastian highlighted the importance of preserving the values of democracy and peace, while urging the students to grow as responsible citizens of the nation. The Chief Guest, Mr. Thakur, appreciated the discipline and enthusiasm of the students and encouraged them to contribute positively to society.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of sweets, making the day a memorable one for the entire school community.
